Continental Mill

LEWISTON, MAINE

Revitalization of an historic mill into a 500,000 sf mixed-use community.

The Continental Mill is a 500,000+ sf adaptive reuse of an 1858 historic mill complex. This once uninhabited mill is a key component in the city’s revitalization. The site is on Riverfront Island along the banks of the Androscoggin River, a pivotal area within the city’s downtown.

The 6-story brick and granite mill conversion creates a mixed-use complex containing 350 apartment units, a boutique hotel, commercial offices, restaurants, storage, and retail with an interior courtyard, waterfront views, and walkable access to downtown Lewiston. Design features include high ceilings, brick walls, hardwood floors, 40,000 sf of parking, and convenient street access and exposure.
