Douglas Hall Townhomes

NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE

An 18-unit short-term rental townhome development in East Nashville that balances efficient site planning, guest-focused layouts, and a walkable neighborhood setting.

Along a changing stretch of Douglas Avenue in East Nashville, these 18 attached residences combine the practical needs of short-term rental housing with a stronger connection to the surrounding neighborhood. Organized across three buildings on a 0.77-acre site, the development establishes a consistent street presence through individual entrances, front porches, and varied rooflines.

Creating a Walkable Residential Edge

Rather than setting the buildings deep within the site, the townhomes sit close to the front setback, maintaining room for front yards and porches. Individual entrances face the street, and connected sidewalks provide direct access to the surrounding neighborhood.

Spaces for Gathering and Privacy

Three townhome plan types, ranging from 1,700 to 2,100 sf, accommodate the needs of short-term rental guests. Open-concept living areas bring kitchens, dining, and gathering spaces together on one level, with generous kitchen islands creating a central place for groups to connect. Multiple bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms offer privacy, while individual rooftop decks extend the usable living space outdoors.

Form Shaped by Function

Sloped roofs address fire access requirements while introducing variation along the building façades. Wood-look panels, cement panels, and clapboard provide changes in texture and scale, helping distinguish individual residences within the larger composition. This is the first phase of a planned development across three adjacent sites, contributing to the evolving residential character of this East Nashville corridor.
