John is the director of MSA’s Texas region, leading our Austin office and supporting clients and project teams throughout all phases of design and construction. He is an Austin-based architect and business leader with more than 25 years of experience designing housing, commercial, mixed-use, civic, and higher education projects across Texas and the Southwest.

A University of Texas at Austin graduate, John developed his skills at nationally recognized and award-winning firms including Will Bruder Architects. He later founded and led his own architecture firm for nearly 15 years. His experience spans multifamily and single-family housing, office interiors, mixed-use developments, hospitality, and complex renovations, giving him a practical understanding of both design and the business realities behind successful projects.

Known for his collaborative leadership style and steady client support, John focuses on clear communication, thoughtful problem solving, and designs that respond to climate, context, materials, constructability, and long-term value.
